FBI Spy
* Re “U.S. Charges FBI Agent With Spying for Russia Since 1985,” Feb. 21: So FBI officials finally caught one of their own who’d been spying for the USSR and later for Russia since the 1980s. Their spy betrayed three of our spies working deep inside their service, two of whom were sentenced to death and later executed, so we are seeking the death penalty for their spy we just caught.
Aside from the high-level spin doctors portraying the FBI’s years of ineptitude as a triumph, it sounds rather symmetrical. What’s behind the timing? Is our new administration heating up the Cold War for a “Star Wars” rally?
