Protesters Demand Referendum on Plant

About 7,000 protesters, many wearing masks emblazoned with skulls, marched through Taipei to call for a referendum on whether Taiwan should finish building its fourth nuclear power plant.
They accused President Chen Shui-bian of betraying those who voted for him for his anti-nuclear stance. Chen scrapped the project in October, but the move infuriated the opposition and the government agreed to restart the project.
