Woman Indicted for Taking Son to Cuba
A federal grand jury indicted a woman on an international parental kidnapping charge for allegedly taking her 5-year-old son to Cuba without the father’s permission.
Arletis Blanco, 27, fled Florida in November on a 21-foot fishing boat with her son, Jonathon, boyfriend Agustin Lemus and their daughter.
Jon Colombini, 31, and Blanco had joint custody of their son until a Monroe County circuit court granted Colombini sole temporary custody.
Colombini traveled to Cuba in December in an unsuccessful bid to return the boy to the U.S.
