Drug War Debacle

* Re “Can a Film Save the Nation From Drug War Insanity?” Commentary, Feb. 25: How about this as an alternative to the war on drugs: Let’s make the control of all dangerous drugs the responsibility of members of the medical profession. Allow them to dispense a drug only when it is needed. Let’s call the document issued to the user a prescription. Comparatively harmless drugs such as aspirin and marijuana could be sold over the counter. Let’s call those stores drugstores.
