Population Growth
* While reading “State Picks Up House Seat as Sunbelt Grows” (Dec. 29) and other recent articles on the U.S. population growing over 13% in just 10 years, it seemed odd that people appear more concerned about whether their state will get an extra seat in the U.S. House of Representatives than what this population growth is doing to the environment.
Nary a word is mentioned about the environmental damage created by having over 62,000 more people every week in this country, equivalent to a medium-sized city springing up every week.
