Bloomberg News

Edel Music, a German record company, agreed to give U.S. Internet company Napster Inc. access to its library of recordings for the online music-sharing service’s new subscriber-based service. Edel said it will advise Napster on the new service model and allow the U.S. company access to its recordings in exchange for promotional services for its artists from Napster. Financial terms were not disclosed. Napster is operating under the threat of an injunction after a U.S. court in July found its software allows illegal music copying over the Internet. That order was delayed, pending Napster’s appeal.
