Endologix CEO Is Chairman; New President/COO Named

Franklin D. Brown, chief executive of Irvine medical-device maker Endologix Inc., has been elected chairman of the board. He replaces company founder Michael Henson, who will remain an Endologix director. The company also said Paul McCormick has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. McCormick joined Endologix in 1998 as vice president of sales and marketing.

* John Trail has been named vice president of operations at Labeltronix in Orange. He had been general manager. Trail joined the company in 1996 as a service manager.

* Edward Weidenfeld has joined the board of directors of Nurescell Inc., the Newport Beach company that sells technology for safe handling and storage of radioactive material. Weidenfeld is a partner in the Weidenfeld Law Firm and previously served as counsel to a U.S. congressional committee on energy matters. Nurescell also said Sharon Nitka has resigned from its board.

* Carlos Cardon has been appointed vice president of engineering and technology at Interstate Electronics Corp. in Anaheim. He was formerly vice president of engineering at E-Systems/Raytheon in Salt Lake City. Robert Huffman was named vice president of marketing and sales. He had been vice president of engineering. In addition, Steve Jungers is the new vice president of strategic business development. He had led the company’s sales and marketing efforts for more than five years.

* Ramiro Tavares has been promoted to director of accounting at SK&A; Information Services Inc. in Irvine. He had been senior accountant.
