Busterna’s Status Still Uncertain

Share

Fifteen games into the season, one Trojan is still waiting to make his debut.

Gennaro Busterna, a McCook (Neb.) College transfer guard who was expected to provide scoring as a reserve, has spent much of the season sidelined because of an injured toe that inhibits his ability to run.

“Hopefully I can play Thursday night (at Arizona). We’ll see,” Busterna said. “I’m kind of contemplating redshirting.”

Busterna has been frustrated by the slow healing of his injury.

“I’ve had injuries before,” Busterna said. “The JC I went to, we didn’t have the means for much treatment, so you just had to play. But I’ve never had an injury that sat me out this long.”
