This is one of the few recently built houses in the Outpost Estates, developed in the Hollywood Hills in the ‘30s by Charles Edward Toberman, known as “Mr. Hollywood” for guiding the development of such Hollywood landmarks as Grauman’s Chinese and the Egyptian theaters.

About this house: Completed in 1999, the house has modern amenities but was built to look old to fit in with the villa style of nearby houses, which has attracted Hollywood stars to the enclave since the ‘30s.

Asking price: $1,995,000.

Size: The house has four bedrooms, including a master suite with a fireplace, and four baths in about 4,000 square feet.

Features: The villa is on a cul-de-sac with canyon and city views. The area looks lush and green much of the year and is not obscured by telephone lines, which are underground, thanks to Toberman’s foresight. Other features of the villa are four fireplaces, two fountains, several patios, a garden, an infinity pool and a spa.

Where: 2207 Malaga Road in Outpost Estates, north of Sunset Boulevard, between La Brea and Highland avenues in the Hollywood Hills.

Listing agent: Rod Ostrom at Prudential John Aaroe & Associates in the Pacific Design Center, (310) 855-0100, Ext. 587.
