Deirdre O’Donoghue

* Thank you for the well-deserved remembrance of Deirdre O’Donoghue (editorial, Jan. 25). My primary awareness of her was by way of “Breakfast With the Beatles” every Sunday morning. But, perhaps, what I most treasured about her, which you so perceptively noted, was her passion and knowledge not only for the Beatles, but for music, musicians and their stories in general. On the radio airwaves, where ignorance and mediocrity sadly seem to be the norm, Deirdre was a refuge of intelligence and class. We’re all the poorer with her passing.
