Killing Sparks Riot in Divided Kosovo City
Serbs threw hand grenades at an ethnic Albanian home in troubled Kosovo province, killing one person, injuring two others and touching off a riot.
After the grenade attack in Kosovska Mitrovica, ethnic Albanians tried to block a road leading into the northern, predominantly Serbian part of the divided city, a spokesman for the U.N. mission in Kosovo said. At least one car was set on fire, and the windows of several U.N. police vehicles were smashed.
The U.N. Security Council scheduled a meeting for today to discuss the latest violence.
