Greed in Broadcasts

Re “NBC: Two Hours Too Late,” editorial, June 29: I guess the NBC affiliates think West Coast inhabitants are a bunch of dummies unable to cope with time differences during the Olympics. If that is the case, then how come NBC didn’t tape-delay the campaign debates or the political conventions last year? Or even the results of last November’s election for president? My goodness, Florida is three hours ahead of us!

Who will bother to watch contests where the results will be broadcast on the 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts? Where’s the suspense and excitement? Eliminated. And if the NBC affiliates hold back on announcing the results on early news programs, will the other networks do the same? How come we never had this problem in other years? Fie on NBC. Greed, greed and more greed!
