Palestinian Boy Dies in Gaza Cross-Fire
An 11-year-old Palestinian boy was shot and killed and two other Palestinian children were wounded, one seriously, in the Gaza Strip on Saturday in an area where Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers were exchanging fire.
The boy was the 17th Palestinian to be killed since Israel and the Palestinians agreed in June to a U.S.-brokered cease-fire. Nine Israelis have been killed since the truce.
Palestinian witnesses said the children were shot by Israeli soldiers on a tower about 350 yards away.
An Israeli army spokesman said Palestinian militants had been shooting at and throwing explosives toward the military post.
