Junior League Hockey Team to Play in Valencia

A new Western States Hockey League franchise will begin play in September at Ice Station Valencia, a year-old ice hockey and skating facility in Valencia.

The team, owned by Ice Station Valencia owner Roger Perez, is for players 20 and under who will compete at USA Hockey’s Junior B level.

Tryouts for the 25-player team are scheduled Aug. 11 and 12 at Ice Station Valencia.

The WSHL this season will include five teams: the Lakewood-based Bay City Bombers; the Utah Valley Golden Eagles of Salt Lake City; the Utah Grizzlies, who play home games in Ogden and Provo; the Phoenix Polar Bears and the Valencia team, which does not yet have a name.
