Whooping Cough Outbreak Reported
From Times Staff Reports
An outbreak of whooping cough has occurred in Thousand Oaks after a report earlier this month that a 12-year-old boy may have unknowingly spread the illness.
After officials learned of the boy’s illness July 3, an investigation into church and school events he was involved in turned up nine more cases.
All were treated with antibiotics and have recovered, officials said.
