War and Peace Process

Re “Outsider-Led ‘Peace Process’ Is Bound to Fail,” Commentary, July 19: Every now and then a dark spirit emerges from the depths of Dante’s “Inferno.” Edward Luttwak is this year’s award winner. His premise that war is good and the “peace process” is bad reveals a gross level of ignorance about both subjects. Apparently he is of the “let them kill each other” school. But for the peace process and its message of hope, many more innocents would have been sacrificed on the altar of political ego. Let us hope and pray that Luttwak’s self-serving philosophy never becomes national policy.
