Ventura County supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved the final version of changes to their district boundaries to reflect the 2000 census.
The ordinance includes a few major changes agreed upon two weeks ago.
Despite the protests of Somis residents, all of the Las Posas Valley will be in Supervisor Judy Mikels’ district. Board Chairman Frank Schillo’s district will include Newbury Park, and Port Hueneme will move from his district to that of Supervisor Kathy Long.
The naval base in Port Hueneme was added to Supervisor John Flynn’s district. Ojai and the Matilija back country were added to Supervisor Steve Bennett’s district.
The new ordinance takes effect in 30 days.
