American Indian Tract May Be Added to Park
One of the oldest American Indian sites in the Bay Area is expected to come under permanent public protection, a national land trust announced Thursday.
Under an agreement reached last year, the Trust for Public Land will buy the land from the Myers Development Co. The trust has a one-year purchase option and must raise nearly $1.3 million to add the property to the San Bruno Mountain State and County Park.
The nearly 26-acre site is at the foot of San Bruno Mountain in south San Francisco--a few yards west of U.S. 101.
