Membership Has Privileges at Pelican Hill

Pelican Hill Golf Club has launched a 10th Anniversary Club, and golfers who join can receive numerous benefits, including discounted play on Sundays.

The memberships, which cost $50, will be available June 1 and will be valid for an undetermined amount of time.

Benefits include $150 green fees on Sunday, 20% discounts in the golf shop and at the driving range, invitations to members-only events and membership in the Southern California Golf Assn.

Last week, the club announced a “Match Play” anniversary special in which golfers who played Oak Creek would receive a voucher to play Pelican Hill for $135.

Regular green fees at Pelican Hill are $175 Monday through Thursday and $250 Friday through Sunday.

Bollini Finishes 15th

Nico Bollini of Yorba Linda shot 72-74-75--221 and tied for 15th at the AJGA Thunderbird Invitational, which ended Monday at Grayhawk in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Bollini, a Servite High senior, finished 19 shots behind winner Ryan Moore of Puyallup, Wash. Daniel Kush of Tustin shot 77-77-80--234 and tied for 38th.

In the girls’ division, Stella Lee of Irvine shot 81-72-76--229 and finished tied for 16th, 10 strokes behind winner Lani Elston of Spokane, Wash. Priscilla Park of Santa Ana shot 76-79-79--234 and tied for 21st.

Tournament Time

Black Gold Golf Club, expected to open this summer, has begun booking tournaments. Those interested in reserving a tournament date can call (714) 961-0600.

Eric Lohman has been hired as marketing director/director of golf for the Yorba Linda course. Lohman, a former All-American player at UCLA, was director of sales and marketing and associate head professional at Cimarron Golf Resort in Palm Springs.
