“I had a pretty compelling wine, the ’98 Neyers Syrah ‘Hudson Vineyard.’ What’s really so nice about it, as you’re tasting it, it smells like the Rhone Valley. It has roasted fruit, it’s very smoky, has evocative spice, almost over-mature grapes, and a long, fat texture in the background....It’s a fine example of Syrah from California, a really stunning wine.”
