He’s good ol’ Dave Alvin no more. The acclaimed singer-songwriter-guitarist and co-founder of the Blasters (with brother Phil) is now Grammy-winning Dave Alvin, thanks to the award he picked up in February for his last album, “Public Domain: Songs From the Wild Land,” named best traditional folk album by Grammy voters. He returns to the Coach House on a bill shared with local hero Chris Gaffney & the Cold Hard Facts--a natural pairing because Gaffney often roadies for Alvin and frequently sits in with his band.* Dave Alvin & the Guilty Men, Coach House, 33157 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano. With Chris Gaffney, Fifty7Down, Boss Tweed . 8 p.m. $15. (949) 496-8930.
