Texas Instruments to Idle Two Plants

Texas Instruments Inc. plans to suspend some production in July at two semiconductor plants in Dallas with about 1,800 workers to cut costs as orders slow.
Texas Instruments, the biggest maker of chips for wireless phones, will idle one plant from June 30 to July 7 and the other from July 2 to July 23, a spokeswoman said.
Shares of Dallas-based Texas Instruments fell 47 cents to $35.51 on the NYSE.
