Taliban Jets Reportedly Attack Opposition Forces

Taliban fighter jets pounded opposition forces in northern Afghanistan, causing residents of a mountainous region to flee for safety, an opposition spokesman said.
The fighting, said to include fierce artillery exchanges, reportedly occurred in the Chal district of Takhar, the northern Afghan province where the Taliban claimed a decisive victory earlier this week.
Taliban officials were not immediately available for comment.
