Accident Interrupts Electricity to 4,500

About 4,500 customers lost electricity Saturday after a pickup truck hit a utility pole at Beach Boulevard and Indianapolis Avenue about 1:30 p.m.
Nearly 4,000 customers regained power by 2 p.m. Saturday, according to a Southern California Edison spokesman. The rest got it back by 3:15 p.m., he said.
The unidentified driver was taken to a hospital, then released.
