Taking Sting Out of Kids’ Health Care

I read Trudy Lieberman’s article about the cost of a back-to-school physical (“Passing More Costs to Patients,” May 21). The price of the physical was “unbundled” to include the cost of multiple immunizations and their administrations.

I would like to point out that the same immunizations will be given for free at your local health department. These vaccines are exactly the same as given by private pediatricians. All children can also receive a free physical for school at local health departments.

Please pass on to your readers that there are alternatives out there, and they are not just for low-income families.
