City Council Delays Decision on Home

The Villa Park City Council has delayed a decision on a home addition that the city inspected six times before discovering it was too close to the property line.

Because the city attorney was not at Tuesday night’s budget session, the council postponed action until its June 26 meeting.

Work on part of the $70,000 addition has been on hold since May. Some council members have said they favor granting the owners of the home a variance that would allow the project to continue.
