Saugus’ Kevin Wood won his first career race at Irwindale Speedway by edging Canyon Country’s David Hessing in the Southern California Auto Club Late Model 50-lap main event.

Hessing, who led throughout until the final turn, finished .015 seconds behind Wood. Riverside’s Todd Burns finished third.

In the Ultra Wheel Super Truck main event, Burbank’s Dan Moore overtook Manhattan Beach’s Greg Adler to win the 50-lap main event.
