Son of Barbara Eden Found Dead in Car

An autopsy is scheduled today on the body of the son of “I Dream of Jeannie” star Barbara Eden and actor Michael Ansara, a coroner official said.
Matthew Michael Ansara, 35, was found dead about 9 p.m. Monday, slumped over the steering wheel of his car at a gas station in Monrovia, said Scott Carrier of the coroner’s office. There was no immediate evidence of trauma.
Ansara was the only child of Eden and Michael Ansara, said Gene Schwam, Eden’s publicist for 30 years.
The younger Ansara was supposed to be married at his mother’s Beverly Hills home on Sept. 1, Schwam said. Apart from working as a fitness trainer, Ansara had occasional acting roles in small, independent films, she said.
