Don’t Forget Signal Hill

Share

How interesting that the photo heading James Ricci’s column on L.A.’s oil fields was taken from a location in Signal Hill (“A Reminder That L.A. Is Still in the Slick of Things,” Feb. 4). The clue is the pyramid building on the Cal State Long Beach campus, which is visible to the east. Existing as an island in the center of Long Beach, Signal Hill is a still-producing oil field visible from the 405 Freeway near Long Beach Airport--but did not merit mention in the accompanying article.
