Punish Sex Offenders

Re “Some Sex Offenders Seeking Castration in Bid for Freedom,” March 2: Child molestation should be a zero-tolerance crime. When these life forms choose to ruin a child’s life, they attack the very fiber of human decency and do not deserve a modicum of leniency. If pedophilia is a disease, shouldn’t society deal with it as with any other dangerous malady? Quarantine!

The offering of body parts for freedom is ludicrous. Did the man [Alameda County prosecutor] Nancy Davis cited use his testicles to fondle young children? I think not. Dual surgical procedures of a lobotomy and castration make more sense. Of course Atascadero State Hospital is a dead end. That is exactly what it should be.
