At a black-tie dinner last week in Anaheim, the Orange County Tourism Council honored seven industry workers for giving exceptional service to guests throughout the county.

The council received more than 500 nominations from visitors to Orange County who wanted to thank certain employees for going beyond the call of duty during their stay, said Mark Feary, executive director.

The winners: Bob Middleton of the Hilton Costa Mesa, for accommodations; Steve DeNaut of South Coast Repertory, for arts and culture; Gail Hug of the Disneyland Resort, for attractions; Mary Ann Stack of the Waterfront Hilton Beach Resort, for restaurants; Jaime Garcia of South Coast Plaza, for shopping centers and retail; Jacqueline Sousae of Southwest Airlines, for transportation; and Tim Turner of the city of Huntington Beach, for visitor and conference bureaus.
