Double, Double, D’oh! and Trouble

Don’t have a cow if you can’t score tickets for Sunday’s performances of “MacHomer” at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Canadian Rick Miller struck gold with the zany idea of having the cast of characters from “The Simpsons” play out an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” Miller drew the cartoon backdrops and does all the voices for his touring show. Only a few tickets were left Wednesday for Sunday’s 5:30 p.m. show (the 3 p.m. show is sold out), but the Barclay has added a four-performance return engagement Aug. 25-26. Ticket prices will rise to $16-$22 for the August shows, but those buying in advance by Sunday will get a discount and pay the April 1 rate of $15-$20. (949) 854-4646.
