CNet Networks Inc.’s first-quarter loss widened as the producer of Web sites and television shows about technology sold less advertising. CNet posted a loss of $316.6 million, or $2.33 a share, including charges, compared with a loss of $167.5 million, or $1.31, a year earlier. Sales fell 19% to $75.2 million.

* Computer products marketer and distributor Ingram Micro Inc. reported first-quarter earnings that topped Wall Street forecasts, which had already been guided lower due to a significant slowdown in demand. The Santa Ana-based company also reduced its outlook for second-quarter earnings, forecasting that earnings per share would be from 7 cents to 12 cents, excluding items. That forecast falls below the average analyst expectation of 19 cents. First-quarter net income was $26.43 million, or 18 cents a share, beating expectations by 1 cent. That compares with $24.7 million, or 17 cents, a year ago. Sales fell 8% to $7.19 billion.
