City Gets Grant for Beach Park
The city of Port Hueneme has received a $130,000 grant from the state for landscaping, irrigation and the restoration of dunes at Hueneme Beach Park.
The City Council agreed to accept the Department of Boating grant Wednesday. The funds are part of the Public Beach Restoration Program, recently passed by the Legislature. The program is designed to help local communities deal with coastal erosion.
“Port Hueneme is fortunate to have been included in this round of funding,” Councilman Jon Sharkey said.
