Local Man Is Promoted to Key State Health Post

David M. Souleles, a special assistant with the state Department of Health Services, was appointed Thursday by the governor as the department’s chief deputy director of programs.
Souleles, 35, of Irvine, has been commuting weekly for two years to Sacramento, where he assisted department Director Diana M. Bonta with management and policy development.
Souleles has to be confirmed by the Senate. The position pays $112,656 yearly.
