Ghosts of Vietnam

Re “The Haunting Side of Vietnam,” by John Balzar, Commentary, May 6: I too feel affected by the Vietnam War. I was strongly against the war and I still am. I was drafted and I served from ’71 to ‘73, but luckily I was not sent to Vietnam. Meanwhile, some of my friends died there. They were good people. They did not have to.

This war was wrong! Politically, morally and strategically. All the revisionists who want to imply there was perfidy and weak resolve among Congress because we didn’t bomb them into the Stone Age are just as wrong now.
