A Georgian lawmaker and his fiancee, who were kidnapped last week by “mobsters,” were freed, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.
Petre Tsiskarishvili, a deputy in the Georgian parliament, and Anna Surmava were seized Monday while driving their car in a park in the capital, Tbilisi.
They were freed without any condition or ransom, said Interior Ministry spokesman Kakhi Targamadze. The kidnapping was “criminal rather than political,” he said.
