Man Who Died in Crash Formerly Lived in Area
A man who died when his Corvette smashed into a concrete barrier in the fast lane of the westbound Ronald Reagan Freeway was a former Simi Valley resident.
Joseph Verbryke, 51, of Rosamond was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
Officials said the car drifted onto the dirt median, struck a barrier and veered back to the freeway before skidding across the right shoulder, where it came to a rest blocking the Stearns Street onramp.
Verbryke’s ex-wife and two children still live in Simi Valley, officials said.
