Bronfmans Sell Vivendi Shares

NEW YORK — French media group Vivendi Universal said Tuesday that it has bought about one-third of the stake in the company held by the Bronfman family and related interests for 1.27 billion euros ($1.09 billion).
The company said it has paid an average of 75.1 euros for the 16.9 million Vivendi shares the Bronfman family sold.
The Bronfman family interests will retain 33 million Vivendi shares. Edgar Bronfman Jr. said the family has no plans for further sales.
