Terror Warning

Regarding “A Failure to Communicate,” editorial, Oct. 31: Just what would you like federal officials to do when they get a serious but general threat of a new terrorist attack? Ignore the threat and tell us nothing? I can just see your editorial if a terrorist attack occurs and you find the government had a warning. You would crucify the government for withholding information that might have prevented the attack. Grow up. We’re at war now and things are going to be different and difficult. As New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said a few weeks ago, we have to be brave.

I am sure that our government will be warning us against impending terrorist attacks about as often as public opinion drops concerning our “war against terrorism.” Nothing keeps a country committed to war more than fear.
