Victims’ Rights

Re “Deputy Shootings Climb at Station,” Oct. 30: I’d be concerned if the number of crimes were rising. The fact that the level of crimes remained steady indicates to me that shot criminals don’t commit repeat crimes so quickly. We should be more concerned where crime rates are rising and the police are hogtied by more concern given to the rights of the criminals than to the rights of the victims.
