Model Contrition

Re LAPD Deputy Chief Ronald Bergmann’s Nov. 4 letter on Sara Jane Olson: I am unaware that contrition is a one-way street. Perhaps if Bergmann would first submit apologies for the recent civil judgments and settlements, as well as criminal convictions, resulting from LAPD misconduct, then the public might take to heart and lend credence to what he writes.
