Enrichment Through Employment in Torrance, which provides adult clients recovering from mental illness the skills needed for entering the work force, needs volunteers to teach computer classes, help write resumes and prepare clients for job interviews. * Child Advocates Office of Los Angeles County Superior Court needs volunteers, appointed by the Dependency Court, to advocate for children who have been removed from homes because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. Volunteers, who must be 25 or older, will evaluate circumstances, investigate resources and make recommendations to the court. * Cheer for Children, based in Redondo Beach, which brings holiday cheer to acutely ill, disabled and hospitalized children with clowns and other entertainment and by visiting them, is holding an orientation meeting Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce. Also, the group is collecting items at various locations between Nov. 23 and Dec. 23 for needy children, including clothes, toys, crayons and coloring books and toiletry items.
