Wine of the Week

Share

From New Zealand comes this inviting Sauvignon Blanc. Bone-dry, with a lilting bouquet of lime, kiwi and tropical fruits, it’s a beautiful mouthful of crisp flinty Sauvignon. A touch of French oak from the small proportion of wine that was fermented in small oak barrels adds finesse. Need an everyday white wine? This is it.

Note that the wine is sealed with a screw-top cap rather than a cork. Lawson’s Dry Hills winery in Marlborough was the first estate in New Zealand to bottle their wines as part of the Screwcap Wine Seal Initiative.

About $10. Available at Wine Exchange in Orange, (714) 974-1454 and Southern Hemisphere Wine Center in Huntington Beach, (714) 892-3030. If you can’t find this wine, have your local store contact the distributor, Via Pacifica Imports, (800) 823-5545.
