From Times Wire Reports

Riot police fired tear gas and chased opposition party supporters through the streets of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, after mobs of pro-government militants randomly had beaten whites and firebombed opposition offices.

It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or whether anyone was killed.

Militants claiming to be veterans of the war that ended white rule in 1980 marched into the city--escorted by police--and torched the local headquarters of the Movement for Democratic Change, said Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of that opposition party.
