29 Injured as Bomb Explodes at Bus Station
A bomb exploded at a busy bus station in Algeria’s capital, Algiers, wounding 29 people, officials said.
The incident raised fears of an upsurge of violence by Islamic rebels during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began last week.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast at Tafourah, where hundreds of college students wait every day for buses.
The device was hidden in a school bag at the bus stop, and the “terrorist was probably dressed like a student and left it there,” a police officer at the scene said.
