The world of “I-could-tell-you-but-then-I’d-have-to-kill-you” is experiencing a surge in popularity. The CIA is now getting five times its normal number of applicants, the new movie starring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt is called “Spy Game,” and the government is asking all citizens to be on the lookout for terrorists.

Of course, if you’re going to be an effective spook, you need the right tools. Below is a sampling of spy gadgets and devices that you can buy at the mall:

Name: Digi Pen

Description: A long, slender USB camera that easily fits into a pocket protector. The USB function allows the user to download images into a computer.

Use: Gives owner constant access to a camera so suspicious people can be secretly photographed. The USB connection allows one to e-mail photos to headquarters (or friends and relatives).
