Despite Attack, Mail Still Arrives for WTC

From Times Wire Reports

The World Trade Center’s twin towers have been reduced to a pile of rubble, but thousands of letters continue to arrive every day destined for the now-defunct postal code 10048 and for those who once worked there.

“Even though the buildings don’t exist, people are still sending mail” there, said Rafael Feliciano, whose route consisted of floors 78 to 110 in 2 World Trade Center.

Feliciano and 700 co-workers from the now-closed Church Street Post Office have moved to other locations where they sift through and store more than 56,000 pieces of mail still arriving daily.
