Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage has put his Malibu home on the market at just under $6 million.

Cage, who co-stars with Meryl Streep in the upcoming movie “Adaptation,” had owned the home since 1997. He also owns nearly 400 acres of land in Malibu, which he bought last fall for about $10 million, and he has a home in Bel-Air.

His Malibu house, on nearly an acre, has four bedrooms and 3.5 baths in about 3,000 square feet. Built in 1973, it has been remodeled since Cage purchased it. Described as a Tuscan-style villa, the home has ocean views, a creek and a pool.

Cage, 37, co-stars with Penelope Cruz in “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin,” released in August. He attended the film’s premiere with Lisa Marie Presley. Cage’s divorce from Patricia Arquette was finalized in May.

“Adaptation,” which wrapped shooting in May, is a drama about making a movie. It is based on Susan Orlean’s book “The Orchid Thief.” Cage won an Oscar for best actor for “Leaving Las Vegas” (1995).

David Spade, who plays power-hungry assistant Dennis Finch on the NBC sitcom “Just Shoot Me,” has listed his Beverly Hills home at close to $3.9 million.

Spade is looking to buy a view property with a tennis court.

The actor-comedian has owned his Beverly Hills home since early 1999.

Situated behind gates, the one-story house has six bedrooms in about 5,400 square feet. Built in the early ‘60s, the house was remodeled in 1995.

The home also has a library, four fireplaces and a courtyard, which leads to the entry/galleria overlooking the garden and pool area.

Spade, 37, was a regular for six years on “Saturday Night Live” before joining the cast of “Just Shoot Me” in 1997. This year, he also starred in the movie “Joe Dirt,” which he co-wrote with “SNL” writer Fred Wolf.

Actress Victoria Principal has sold her three-acre property in the Montecito area for about $3.5 million.

The property has changed hands several times during the past decade and has been owned at various times by such celebrities as Alex Van Halen and Priscilla Presley.

Once part of a larger estate, the property has a guest house on it. The guest house has two bedrooms and a bath in an estimated 800 square feet.

Principal, 51, was a series regular on “Dallas” (1978-87) and “Titans” (2000). She is the author of such self-help books as “The Living Principal: Looking and Feeling Your Best at Every Age” (2001, Villard Books). She is married to plastic surgeon Harry Glassman.

Tom Freston, CEO and chairman of MTV Networks Inc., and his wife, Kathy, have purchased a Beverly Hills-area home for close to its $4.6-million asking price, real estate sources say.

Kathy Freston, a former model, produced “Transformational Meditations,” a set of three CDs offering advice on losing weight and developing relationships.

The couple’s new home is traditional in style and has five bedrooms and 6.5 baths in about 7,300 square feet. The recently built home also has a library, four fireplaces, a grand stairway, veranda, pool and spa.

The Frestons were living in a smaller home nearby; they also have had a place in New York.

Screenwriter-director John Milius and his wife, actress Elan Oberon, have purchased a home in Connecticut and put their Brentwood residence on the market at about $1.9 million.

Their Connecticut home sits on three acres, where they plan to raise dogs. He is working on a continuation of the “Conan” series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and a film project about the Gulf War.

The couple’s Brentwood home has four bedrooms in about 5,000 square feet. Built in 1971, the home also has an entry hall with canyon views; a living room with a bar area; and a 600-square-foot office with access to a pool and spa with city views.

Milius has used his home office to co-write screenplays for such films as “Apocalypse Now” (1979), “Conan the Barbarian” (1982), which he also directed, and “Clear and Present Danger” (1994). Oberon appeared in the movies “Farewell to the King” (1989) and “Red Dawn” (1984).

Larry Thompson, a former owner of New World Pictures and producer of such TV movies as “And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story” (1998), and his wife, Kelly, have sold their former home in Beverly Hills to TV writer-producer Kenneth Solms for about $1.3 million.

The Thompsons bought a larger Westside home in July for $2.3 million. The home they sold was a one-story villa, designed to look like a house in the south of France, with three bedrooms in 2,650 square feet.

Larry Thompson, who is producing the William Shatner-hosted “Iron Chef USA” special for UPN to air in November, had purchased the house from actor Kirk Douglas and his wife, Ann, about 13 years ago. Solms has been a writer and producer of TV specials for Neil Diamond, Carol Burnett, Julie Andrews and Jack Benny, and he was the writing supervisor for the 43rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Drew Mandile and Brooke Knapp of Sotheby’s International Realty, Beverly Hills, represented the Thompsons in their sale; David Mossler and Eric Lerner of Mossler, Deasy & Doe, Beverly Hills, represented Solms, sources said.
