Ruben Martinez is just another voice for Mexico (“The Limits of Compassion,” Opinion, Oct. 7). Where is President Vicente Fox now? Why doesn’t he come up with a relief fund for illegal Mexicans?
Martinez, with his “limited amnesty” spin-babble, never once brings up Mexico and its obligation to the illegal Mexicans disrupted by the terror of Sept. 11. I encourage Martinez to talk to Fox. With the billions of dollars illegal Mexicans send to Mexico each year, Mexico should be able to come up with something.
And how about encouraging illegal Mexicans to return to Mexico and fill out the proper papers to enter this country legally?
